Monitoring and Alarm System--Real Time Simulation

The Monitoring and Alarm System (MAS) monitors an array of sensors that are geographically distributed in any type of enclosed structure and consists of fire, smoke, heat, and static electricity sensors. The MAS software enables (1) the maintenance crew to configure the fire, smoke, heat, and static electricity alarm system when it is installed, (2) allows the structure occupants to monitor all sensors connected to the alarm system, (3) allows the structure occupants to reset and deactivate individual sensors or sensor types, and (4) interacts with the users through a graphical user interface.

The main question for my post is guidance on the best qay to tackle this project maybe a snippet example for sensors, etc
