Monsanto has been involved in litigation involving several cases. The company agreed to a settlement in 2005 paying a $1.5 million fine for violating the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act by making false entries into its books and records and bribing Indonesian officials. This is in addition to the case you identified and Bayer (Round Up), Agent Orange, Dioxin and PCBs to name a few. What are your thoughts on the Monsanto case considering the history of the company and the type of transactions involved? Do you think the penalties should be stiffer?
