More people were working in America in June than in any month since the endof 1990. If that's not what you thought you read in the papers last week, don't worry. It isn't. The report that employment plunged in June,with nonfarm payrolls declining by 117,000, helped to persuade the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates yetagain....In reality, however, there were 457,000 more people employed in June than in May.

What explains the difference between the fact that employment went up by 457,000 and the official report that employment went down by 117,000?
