More so than any other aspect of criminal procedure, the exclusionary rule dramatizes the conflict between the Crime Control and Due Process models of the U.S. criminal justice system. Which is the appropriate question: Is the criminal to go free merely because "the constable blundered," or if the government became a lawbreaker, does it invite anarchy?
