Most law students struggle with anxiety, disrupted sleep, and depression. This percentage for students is 50% and higher, with anxiety being the highest at 77%. These numbers reflect the course load and the pressure to excel in law school. Mental health is natural and common in law schools because of the pressure to be perfect and finish. In 2022, the fall semester increased by 75% of anxiety for law students, and more than half experienced depression. With these numbers increasing, studies show that race and gender play a major role. There is a more significant issue of the lack of support for law students, especially in the first year.
1. Academic Rigor: This is where an environment was created for the students to learn at a higher level. Professors and board members expect this to keep up the school's reputation. Academic Rigor can be built by setting higher goals and accomplishments.

2. Competitive Environment: Little competition has never hurt anybody, but when it affects your well-being, do you say enough is enough? The curriculum is structured and very difficult; although law school is hard, it is rewarding. How does this competitive environment affect the well-being of its first-year students? How do they adapt and adjust?

3. New Learning Styles: Be open to trying new things and new ways of learning. Take advantage of opportunities that may present you to meet and interact with mentors and network with people you can benefit from and use the tools and advice they offer.

4. Work-Life Balance: Prioritize your schedule and use time management skills. Life is stressful, so when you add working and law school, you must know how to manage them. Setting priorities and making sacrifices are a must. Effective study methods will keep you from staying on the same topic too long. Balancing work and school is hard, but it can be done.

5. Psychological and Emotional Stress: Research shows that a first-year law student feels more depressed and demoralized than any other grad school student population. This can also bring about anxiety. Research shows that more than half of first-year law students enrolled have anxiety or depression.

6. Financial Burden: Consider the financial strain of attending law school, including tuition fees, student loans, and the pressure to secure well-paying jobs post-graduation.
