Most private equity deals are limited to accredited investors. This makes crowdfunding attractive to those investors that are not in that category. The two primary ways in which a person $($single$,1$ro spouse$)$ qualifies as an accredited investor is either $1)$ net worth that exceeds $q,($which $$ the value of their primary residence$)$ OR $2)$ personal income exceeding $\{$ in each of the two most recent years and a reasonable expectation of the same income level in the current year.
