Most trait approaches to leadership emphasize only the positive qualities necessary to succeed as a leader. But surely many successful leaders are egotistical and narcissistic, driven by the physical and psychological perks that come with a leadership position. Can a person whose motivation is self-aggrandizement or enrichment who accomplishes the organization's goals be considered a successful leader? Why or why not? Should we admire that person? Use an interdisciplinary approach when developing your response.
