Mr. Burns hires a team of salespeople to aggressively sell Burns University courses. Homer is always looking for easy ways to get rich. A BurnsU salesperson, Sideshow Bob, visits Homer at home and convinces Homer to take 5 courses for $50,000. Bob hands to Homer a standard BurnsU contract and asks him to sign. Homer says, "Should I have a look at this contract before signing it?". Bob says, "Nah, it's just the usual legal mumbo jumbo." Homer says, "Okay, let's do this," and signs the contract. Homer pays the full amount upfront to Burns University. Homer takes one course and is very disappointed. The instructor is also Sideshow Bob who has no experience or training in real estate. Homer demands his money back. Sidehow Bob says, "The contract says no refunds are provided for any reason. Also, in clause 23(1)(c), it says that if you do not finish all of your courses, you are liable to pay an administrative fee to Burns University of $10,000." Homer says, "Doh!!! You didn't tell me about that before!" (Note: Homer did not look at the Burns University website before deciding to enroll. Therefore, the statements in Part 3 are not relevant to Homer.) Question 9 (1 point) Listen Is Homer liable to pay the $10,000 fee to Burns University? Yes No Question 10 (1 point) Listen Fully set out the applicable law to support your choice above. Paragr...
