Mr Das We cannot any longer keep Anil Thomas on the payroll. I know he is the son of our Sales Manager and we agreed to give him a chance for the sake of the father, who has been with the Company for 12 years. Young Thomas, however, is impossible. On three occasions lately he had failed to turn up for work, on each occasions lately learned -following a wild drinking party the night before. Then last week, he turned up drunk and almost caused a bad accident to himself and his mate on the machine. Yesterday, Thursday, he picked up a fight with one of the other men and work in the mill was held up for nearly an hour. We took him on at Bangalore against my advice, but I cannot put up with him any longer. Can I have your authority to sack him? I want to give him a month's pay rather than notice.
