He had thoroughly enjoyed the extra-curricular activities in school but few in academic endeavours. When he graduated from the university, he had not found a job. His dad was extremely upset when he discovered this, and he took it upon himself to see that Mr. Kamal became employed.

Mr. Kamal's father, Mr. Ahmad, was an executive vice president of a medium-sized manufacturing firm. One of the people he contacted in seeking employment for Mr. Kamal was Mr. Raju the president of another firm in the area. Mr. Ahmad purchased many of his firm's supplies from Mr. Raju's company. After told Mr. Raju his problem, Mr. Ahmad was told to send Mr. Kamal to Mr. Raju's office for an interview. Mr. Kamal went, as instructed by his father, and before he left Mr. Raju's office, he was surprised to learn that he had a job of the company the accounting department. Mr. Kamal may have been lazy, but he certainly was not stupid. He realized that Mr. Raju in hope would lead to future potentials business from his father's company. Although Mr. Kamal's work was not pays challenging, it paid better than the other jobs in the accounting department.

It did not take long before Mr Kamal told everyone in department how he had got the job. When a difficult job was assigned to Mr. Kamal, he normally got one of the other employees to do it, implying that Mr. Raju would be pleased with that person if he or she helped him out. He developed a pattern of coming in late, taking long lunch breaks, and leaving early. When the department manager attempt to warning him desirable conducts activities, Mr. Kamal would bring up the close relationship that his father had with the president of the firm. The department manager was at the end of his rope.
