Mr. Marube was a permanent employee of a chemical firm in Nairobi. While in the course of doing his duties, he was hurt and as a result his esophagus was blocked. He was rushed to a private hospital by his colleagues where he was admitted . On hearing, the managing director who is also the proprietor of the company deployed another person to do same duties of Mr.Marube. In the hospital doctors recommended operation and wanted a deposit of shs 50000 before operation could be done. Manager was approached and he refused to pay. The management of private hospital recommended that Marube be taken to a public hospital. On reaching public hospital, the hospital doctors said that they did not have relevant tools to perform the operation. He was transferred to another private hospital which wanted a deposit of shs 60000. Mr. Marube's family had to organize fund raising as managing director still refused to pay. He was operated but the damage was already done he could not swallow anything throughout his life. He had to live by taking fluids through artificial tube. The union could not do anything to help Mr.Marube. (a)Advise Mr.Marube's family. (10mks) (b) What remedies would you recommend to avoid such future events in this organization. (5 mks)
