Mr. Sharp is partner at a large nationwide CPA firm, and he's been overseeing some of the new staff accountants that were recently hired. He noticed that they're making a lot of mistakes inputting data into the trial balance software so he wondered if they need additional training. The firm paid to fly in one of the software developers to conduct an in-house training to give the new hires hands-on experience with the software. Mr. Sharp gathered data on the average number of input errors that a sample of 30 new hires made before and after this in-house training. Mr. Sharp was pleased with the decrease in errors, and he is planning to suggest to the executive management team that the firm start bringing in this software developer annually to train the new hires. He says the money was well spent and produced the results he was hoping to see. Is this a good suggestion or not? What is your reasoning for your decision?
