Ms Lucy Johnson obtained a mortgage from Scotiabank (Bahamas) Ltd.
(Scotiabank) on July 8,2017, the principal amount of $240,000 at 6.5% interest
for a twenty-five year term, for the purchase of a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom house in
Colony Village Subdivision. At the time, Ms Johnson had been a Croupier at Atlantis
Bahamas for more than twelve years. Ms Johnson had made her mortgage payments
faithfully and consistently until March 30,2020, the month she was placed on
furlough by her employer. It is now February 2022, and Scotiabank has not been
able to establish contact with Ms Johnson in over 18 months, and the last payment
of record was March 30,2020.
