Ms. T. processed two (2) redemptions in the total amount of $51,200.00 USD based on email instructions alone. This was contrary to the policies and procedures of her employer (firm). Not wanting to bother to follow up by phone and thinking it was fine she falsely documented that she had spoken with the client over the telephone to confirm the client's instructions even though she had not done so. She maintained that she had spoken with the client over the phone when asked by her employer. Unbeknownst to Ms. T. at the time, the emails were received from a third party who had gained unlawful access to her client's email account and subsequently misappropriated the proceeds of the redemptions. Ms. T's employer refused to reimburse her client saying that Ms. T. acted outside of her employment contract and stated they were not liable for the misappropriated funds. The client lodged a complaint with FP Canada. Ms. T. then failed to respond to FPCanada's inquiries when requested to do so. Explain what action is necessary : Eg. what are the client's options and what should Ms. T do
