Purchase ledger control account (PLCA) - CREDITOR 8,485 CR (LIA..CR) Sales ledger control account (SLCA) - DEBTORS 21,175 DR (ASSETS...DR) The above balance did not match with the list of balances taken from both the purchase ledger and sales ledger. On investigation, the following were discovered: 1. Discount received of 140 has been omitted from the books. 2. Sales returns of 115 had been treated as sales and entered in the sales journal. 3. Irrecoverable debt of 95 had been written off in the sales ledger but no entry was made in the control account. 4. A contra for 535 had been entered twice on the debit side in the PLCA. 5. Payment of 60 to a supplier had not been recorded. 6. A Discount allowed of 35 had been posted to the debit side of SLCA and PLCA 7. Ms Mona owes JoJo 190 and JoJo owes Ms Mona 795. 8.
