Multiple questions: PLEASE NOTE I AM NOT USING A GRAPHING CALCULATOR 1. Finally, Tracy and Justin came up with the following layout for the playground (units are in feet; picture is not to scale). 5 x castle 4 x Additional area Swing set 2x What is the value of if the total area of the playground is 216 square feet? With this first question is only allows me to put in one value for x. I've worked on it and I can't seem to single X by itself to get just one result. My equation set up always comes out to 2x^2+14x+20 and then I have the whole equation to equal 216. Can you please give me a step by step on how you figure this out? 2. After having figured out the future set up of the playground, Justin and the children were playing in the back yard. The equation for the position of the ball is y=-16x^2 +72x, where x is the number of seconds the ball is in the air, and y is the number of feet the ball is above the ground. What is the maximum height that the ball reaches? Same with this question. I set up my equation to equal to equal 0. So - - -16x^2+72x=0 then I made x alone. x(16x+72)=0 then I separated the equation x=0 and 16x+72 =0. Well one equation already tells us that x=0 and after figuring out the second one I got 4.5 = x..... my answer must be a whole integer. I answer with 4 and 5...... but its wrong. Please help. And please step by step. I really want to understand how to do this. 3. y Emily threw a ball up in the air from her tree house. It followed the path given by the parabola y=-o.16x^2+5x+8, where x is the distance from the tree house (in feet) and is the height of the ball (in feet). At what distance away from the tree house did the ball strike the ground? Same issue with this question. Please provide step by step. 4. One of Emily's balls lands on the roof of the house. Justin gets up on the roof, retrieves the ball, and then throws it in the air from the roof. The path of the ball is shown in the following picture. a c When writing the equation of this parabola in the form y=ax^2+bx+c, what is the value of ? Is the sign of positive or negative? 5. Justin was interested in knowing the range of x-values for which the ball will be higher than 60 feet. He uses the path of the ball to write the following inequality: -0.1x^2+8x-60>60 For which range of x-values is y greater than 60? Write your answer in the form a < x < b, and enter the values for a and b. 6. t y Later that day, Tracy became interested in the maximal height for throwing a ball. On the internet, she finds that the maximum pitching speed of professional baseball players is 150 feet per second (about 105 miles per hour). The equation for the height (in feet) after seconds of a ball thrown vertically in the air at that speed is y(t)=-16t^2+150t. At what time would the ball reach a height of 200 feet
