Mutiara College has been in the educational industry for the past 20 years and has 3 campuses in Johor, Selangor and Pulau Pinang. As part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) agenda and marketing strategy, the college decides to offer 20 scholarships to eligible students. The following describes the scholarship application process for the college: Students will be required to submit the hardcopy application form to Sandy (the clerk at the front office). Once she receives the forms, Sandy will key in the details in the computer and file them in the application form file. Once the date of application closes, Sandy will process all applications using the computerised system. The application will be processed against the details in the Scholarship Criteria File that contains the educational requirements of the scholarship. Next, the system will print the Medical Report Notification meant for those applications that fit the requirement of the scholarship. Sandy will send this notification to the applicants for their further actions. Most of the time, applicants are given a maximum of one week to submit their medical report to the college. Again, Sandy will compile these reports and key in the medical data into the system (these data are usually saved in the Medical Status File) and she will keep all the hardcopy reports in the Medical Report File, which are kept in a big box below her desk. Usually Sandy will process the medical summary of the applicants every 2 weeks and notification will be forwarded to Michael (scholarship manager) for his review. Once reviewed, Michael will approve the scholarship application. Later, the system will print the Scholarship Notification and Successful Scholarship Report. Sandy will send the notification to the applicants and the report will be sent to Michael.
