My approach to handling ethical issues begins with recognizing the issue. Next, I will begin to gather information to support my findings. I then discuss the issue with trusted colleagues. After this is completed, I then look at the information gathered and make the most educated and ethical decision. One thing I keep in mind through this process is viewing the situation through a biblical lense. The approach mentioned in the course material consisted of a list of steps. These steps include "realize that an ethical standard has been violated, identify all of the people affected, gather pertinent information, analyze all of the information, make a decision, implement the decision, and discuss the lessons learned" (Belhaven University, 2023). While the approaches are similar, the approach presented in the course material goes into further detail and has more guidelines so that the most ethical decisions are made.
