My client Bella Sky, is a 12 year old adolescentAfrican American female who has

dissociative identity disorder(DID).Dissociative identity disorder is also known as multiple

personality disorder and it is physical, sexual,or emotional abuse during childhood distressing or

painful events. This disorder causes my client to disconnect from her thoughts, feelings, memories

or her sense of identity. My client identifies herself as having 2 distinct personality

identities, which came from trauma in her childhood. My client disclosed to me in a recent session

that her stepdad was molesting her at night when her mother would not be at home and this

abuse has been going on for 6 months..My client revealed to me that during the abuse she

would picture she was somewhere else whenever the abuse would happen. My client disclosed

in the session that she would even pretend she was someone else so she did not have to be

present during the abuse she was going through at the time.My client stated she was scared to

tell her mother about the abuse because her abuser told her he would harm her and her mother

she told.My client stated she is also a lesbian and she is afraid her mother will not be

accepting because her mother is a christian and she would not agree with her sexuality.

My observation of my client from the most recent session was that she was

hurt, sad, confused and she does not trust easily. My client is sad and confused because she would

like to tell her mother about the abuse and also about her sexuality but she feels as if her

mother would not believe her and abandon her.Although my client feels this way,she alwayshave a smile on her face.My client loves to draw and she has very good grades in school. She is

a very strong 12 year old girl, but i do believe she is going to have a hard time trusting adults.
