My mother moved in with us in January of this year and we are helping to take care of her. Her income consists of $10,365 in Social Security Benefits, a small pension of $3,200, and interest income of $255. That money goes toward her medical expenses since she has an aid come in to check on her. I think the aid is way overpaid but it is what it is. We pay the rest of her living expenses, including some additional medical expenses, clothing, and whatever else she needs. Shes really missing her Bingo right now since we are all at home, but my wallet doesnt! Can we claim her on our taxes? If so, is it worth it? I dont even know if she files taxes.
