Managing an organization's operations to achieve a favorable revenue-to-cost ratio and robust operating margin requires careful preparation, implementation, and oversight. Additionally, an operations manager guarantees the organization's efficient and effective utilization of resources, including supplies, labor, and technology, to produce desired results (Operations Management, 2020).

Background of case study

In this scenario, we'll examine a management issue from the perspective of Benthic Fish Processors Limited (Beothic), one of the largest fish processing companies in the world, which has its roots in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, and which has been in business since 1967. To accommodate its rapid growth, particularly in its capelin manufacturing, the company began modernizing its production facilities in 1979 by installing freezing and cold storage equipment (King & Stapleton, 1993).
