My selected principal is integrity. Integrity to me is understanding how to differentiate between what is right or wrong. Sometimes it is hard to do but, thinking about what the outcome is going to be, gives me an idea of what to expect. "Integrity requires a member to be, among other things, honest and candid within the constraints of client confidentiality. Service and the public trust should not be subordinated to personal gain and advantage. Integrity can accommodate the inadvertent error and honest difference of opinion; it cannot accommodate deceit or subordination of principle" (AICPA, December 15, 2014). The must important value that this brings is trust of others because it is about doing the right thing. One difficult situation is helping family members, especially when it comes to finances. Sometimes to get more than they deserve they want to cheat but not get caught. The best way that I can always put things for anyone is that I like to keep my business professional and my family together so, I do not mix the two things. Considering that families are persuasive, it does make it hard to keep things ethical but as I said before keeping your professional life separate from your personal life. Doing things for family can be tempting to do the unethical to satisfy them.
What actions or strategies could someone take to remediate the ethical issues? What are some repercussions of not abiding by the above-selected principle from a legal, business, or general professional perspective?
