Myron hates his neighbor Thelma because she will not give him the "time of day." Myron had once loved Thelma "from afar" but her continued rejection has made him bitter and filled with bitter resentment. One day Myron decides that he will break into Thelma's home and "cut up her pretty face" while she sleeps as revenge for these continued rejections.
