The Howards were also the directors of Mystery Creek Diary. At the 2019 annual general meeting the Howards told the Carpenters that the farm revenue was expected to increase and grow because dairy products were reaching record highs at the global auctions. At the 2020 annual general meeting, the Howards continued to talk about the continued growth. It came to the attention of the Carpenters that the Howards were both living in expensive town houses and driving expensive cars.
