Nancy Stearns Burgess conducted a study to determine weight loss, body composition, body fat distribution and resting metabolic rate in obese subjects before and after 12 weeks of treatment with a very- low-calorie diet and to compare hydro densitometry with bioelectrical impedance analysis.the 17 subjects (9 women and 8men) participating in the study were from outpatient hospital based treatment program for obesity, the women's weight before and after the 12 weeks Very low calorie diet treatment are shown in the table below, we wish to know if these data provide sufficient evidence to allow us to conclude that the treatment is effective in causing weight reduction in obese women
