Cookie monster is a small company baking and selling Girl Scout cookies. Girl scouts troops mail their orders to the sale department, where sale clerks open the envelops and review the orders for accuracy. For each order, the clerks enter the troops customer number into computer system, and the system displays the record of this troop. The clerk matches the information on the screen (Shipping address etc) with the order. Assuming that they match, the clerk enters the items and quantities being ordered. The computer compares the input data to inventory data. Assuming that the order passes these checks, the computer creates a new order record in the sales event data and update the inventory to allocate the ordered items. Then computer system prints one copy of the order in the ware house (the picking ticket), and another copy in the sales department. After printing the computer system changes the order status to fulfilled and update the sales data and A/R. The copy of the sales order printed in the sales order department is mailed to the customer.
