Natasha is a dangerous criminal who is being held at Asgard police station following her arrest. PC Banner, a newly qualified police officer, doesn't lock the door to Natasha's cell properly, allowing her to escape. On the way out of the station she picks up some documents she sees lying around near the cell area. She then goes to the police station car park and steals a van owned by Scott, a civil contractor who was visiting the police station to eradicate an insect infestation. Natasha causes serious damage to Scott's van as she is making her getaway.

Natasha later reads through the documents she took from the police station and realises that it is a list of police informants, one of whom, Wanda, had informed on her. Enraged, Natasha goes to Wanda's house and seriously injures her, although Natasha herself is also injured in the struggle.

After leaving Wanda's house Natasha realises she requires urgent medical attention. She decides she needs to surrender herself to the police and dials 999. Natasha asks the police operator whether she also needs to phone for an ambulance, but the operator replies, 'you can leave that to us, we'll arrange for a paramedic to be with us when we come to arrest you in a few minutes'. However, the police and their paramedic do not arrive for over an hour. The delay leaves Natasha with permanent disabilities. Natasha receives a longer sentence of imprisonment because of the theft of, and damage caused to, Scott's van and the wounding of Wanda.

Scott, Wanda and Natasha now seek your advice upon whether they may have any claims in negligence against the Asgard police in respect of their losses.
