Native American and Korean senior people are respected for their wisdom and life experiences. Korean younger members are expected to care for the aging members of the family. In the Chinese culture placing the elderly in a home is seen as uncaring and a bad sign. This is contrary to the UK and USA where the culture is characterized by individualism and independence. Thus the elderly end up living a lonely life separate from their children in old age. Additionally, there is an elderly law in China that state that grandchildren are expected to keep InTouch with their grandparent no matter where they are located globally. Failure to follow the rules and legal actions can be taken.
