The workshop and assignment are available on Moodle. Second, you will submit a paper proposal outlining the two SCC decisions you have chosen. Third, after the instructor has approved your proposal, you will case brief that summarizes and discusses both decisions. See below for details on these two components. This assignment provides you with an opportunity to improve your legal reading, research, and writing skills. The goal of this second case brief is to demonstrate clear understanding about the definition, significance, and scope of your chosen Charter right based on an analysis of two key decisions. Approved Charter sections Choose one of the following Charter rights on which to focus your paper: One of the following fundamental freedoms: section 2(a), 2(b), or 2(d) Section 15(1); both cases must consider the same ground of discrimination (e.g. sex or race) Proposal: Assignment format As discussed during the library workshop, begin by using secondary sources to identify the key ("leading") SCC cases on your topic and choose two you will use as a foundation for your second case brief. The cases need not be very recent, but they should accurately reflect the law as it currently stands. In other words, you cannot use a case that has been overruled. The proposal consists of two case summaries, divided into facts and law (four paragraphs total). The summaries should be based on your reading of the decisions only; do not use or refer to secondary sources. For each decision, provide a full citation and two short paragraphs:
