Need help figuring out Statute of Fraud

Samuel Cohodas orally agreed to sell his land to Harry Russell. After the oral agreement, Cohodas sent a letter to Russell that included the agreed-upon price, a description of the property, and the cost per acre. A legal description of the property was attached to the letter. There was no mention of how the sale was to be financed. Cohodas later refused to complete the deal, and Russell sued to force Cohodas to sell. Cohodas defended by stating that the oral agreement was for the sale of land and had to be in writing, and that the letter was insufficient to satisfy the Statute of Frauds. Is he correct? Explain
