Rationale

At a high-level overview, I have selected this team as they represent each department

within the organization which will help with horizontal and vertical approaches to managing

change. The profiles of these individuals are leadership roles with a variety of tenue with the

organization, and one who is an individual contributor but has a long tenure with the company

and excellent negotiation skills which I feel would be a great fit for helping managing change

(Kotter, 2012). I've listed specific rationale for each of these individuals below:

Omar Mattsson has been with the organization the least amount of time at 3 years. He is

the manufacturing director and manages 12 manufacturing plants with over 580 workers.

He was part of an acquisition and has appreciated the way the integration has gone so far.

Therefore, he has been through change in a positive way and understands what is needed

from himself to provide to the employees. I see him as holding expertise, leadership, and

position power in the guiding coalition role.

John Martensson has been with the company for the longest amount of time at 22 years. He is the research director of the organization and responsible for 100 people over 3

countries. He is a hard working and I feel will ensure the success of the organizational

change as he has seen situations like this fail in the past and therefore should understand

what is needed to succeed. I see him as holding expertise, leadership, position power, and

credibility in the guiding coalition role.

Elaine Hartwick has been with the company for 10 years. She is the Acting Director

overseeing 18 senior managers in various marketing roles. She is a strong leader and

appreciates the complementary strengths of others. Elaine has great adaptability and a

great visionary which will be useful in understanding the organizational change vision. I

see her as holding expertise, leadership, and position power in the guiding coalition role.

Leslie Krupp has been with the company for 14 years. She is currently a sales

representative and although does not have any direct reports, she has a had a long

successful tenure with the company and incredible ability to influence. Leslie has not had

a promotion in 8 years, and her job satisfaction is lower than the others, but I feel that this

role will give her the visibility within the company for future opportunities which may

help to increase her satisfaction. I see her expertise and credibility as assets in the guiding

coalition role.
