Evaluating the Business Impact of Change
Change management is the proactive steps taken to enable the transition from the
current state to the future state to ensure that the improvement is sustained over time. To
maintain change efforts, performance management can be used. As recommended, prior
utilization of the ADKAR model is a good tool for a diverse and large organization. This model
will create a clear and direct message across all levels needed, as seen in the surveys. This
message will be evidence-based so that it will address specifically the organization and the needs
to change. This method will also allow for time to properly support and train the teams on the
necessary changes and ensure all are equipped with the skills required. This process will also
hold everyone accountable for the changes and ensure they are reinforcing the new way. This
model will also support the team in reinforcing and ensuring the change sticks and old habits are
not still present. This model is simple because it is only five steps, but each step is specific and
detailed enough to ensure communication and trust are being built. While the same message is
being addressed to the team, this will increase trust and a better understanding of the company
culture and vision. With the utilization of this method, it can be used to hold everyone
accountable. One way to keep the teams and leadership accountable is with monthly coaching.
This will provide an opportunity to review the current status of the employee's efforts and if
support is needed. If a problem needs to be addressed or adaptation to the change is not occurring
with the employee, then documented coaching can be done to hold the employee accountable and set up specific objectives to be achieved by next month's coaching. In this process, it will be
seen that change is an ongoing process and can't be achieved overnight. The sustainability of
change requires continuous reinforcement over time. (Wong, 2019)
