The leadership development initiative that I recommend from Campbell Soup Company

Case Study would be the two-year leadership commitment. As part of their initiative to recruit

and retain highly skilled workers to the company, the Campbell's Company provides employees

with resources to learn from their managers. The program's two-year leadership commitment is

captivating and is an investment in building leadership skills in the workforce. Real world

experiences shared by other leader's life journeys, letter writing classes in order to gain

acceptance to programs, 360-degree feedback and networking to strengthen the entire process are

some areas of expertise in the program. Campbell's training techniques are well blended,

including diverse literature, self-awareness techniques, high collaboration, coaching and

mentoring.

Respectable leaders offer development initiatives to their employees to enhance their

engagement levels at work. Improved employee engagement leads to increased financial

performance. Problems may start to arise in employee engagement when there is dissatisfaction

within the workplace; those dissatisfied in their work environment produce less products and

may realize a decrease in customer service. The engagement surveys and exit interview answers

show that there are many dissatisfied employees in the U.S. Branch.

Leadership development initiatives favorably impact the retention of leaders. According

to CED Magazine, seven out of ten people say training and development opportunities influence

their decision to stay with an organization. Most employees feel disengaged, want more training, and want to know their employers are invested in their future and that there are opportunities to

advance. However, many organizations find it difficult to prioritize the implementation of

leadership programs because of time limitations and restricted resources. Organizations can

improve employee retention by providing better leadership education in many different ways

(Hainstock, 2017). It is important to employees in any industry to feel recognized and like the

organization cares about their advancement within.
