Connection Between Training and Attrition

The data shows in former employees that females spent an average of 13 years with the

organization and males an average of 2 years. Average age of exiting the company for females is

38 and for males 35. What is interesting to note is females that left the company, their average

years since their last promotion was 7 years and were trained at least once per year, and for males it was 0.5 years and trained at least twice a year, however, females' salaries are significantly higher than males. This may be why they stayed longer than the male employees. The data alludes to the inconsistent training by the company of males and females. Although females were trained less per year, they stayed with the company longer whereas males were trained more frequently and left the company faster. Females appeared to stay with the organization longer than males although their average age for exiting the organization is very similar which could attribute to females starting in the organization at an earlier age than males.

Retention

Average income: This is the same trend appears for current female employees at $7,600

monthly income and males at $5,200 monthly income. If this trend continues, the same pattern

will occur with males leaving the company faster than females, regardless of being trained more

frequently and receiving promotions quicker.

Promotion: The trend is also seen with current female employees averaging 3 years since

their last promotion while males averaging 1 year since their last promotion. Continuing this way

will lead to additional attrition with these employees, although females do tend to stay at the

organization longer without a promotion. Males will continue to leave the company regardless.

Work-life balance: Employees currently with the company seem unsatisfied with their

work-life balance. When broken out between work-life balance, average years in current role and

average years since last promotion, the result is flat for current employees which lends to more

work that will need to be done to create a more positive environment.
