There are always different reasons for failure to change. "Many attempts at
organizational change have met with failure by the standards of stakeholders who served as
implementers (Lewis, Kouzes, & Posner, pg. L-24)." Some of the reasons are communication
and failure to acknowledge the current organization's culture. Several internal and external
factors can cause resistance to change in a company. It can get costly if the company continues
to fail to change. The CEO's vision of expanding to the U.S. market remains unfulfilled.
Communication concerns between branch employees are resulting in low employee morale at the
U.S. branch, this is indicated by both the Exit Interviews and Employee Surveys that have been
done.
One of the reasons is communication. Not being able to communicate the change the company needs can be detrimental. Another reason is when management ignores the current organization's culture. Being able to work in an environment where staff can approach management is a must. If there is no open dialog, and the staff is unable to express their concerns, it leads to losing trust. If this continues, it can be detrimental for any organization, especially if the organization is trying to expand into a new market.
