Uniqueness of Generation Z Marketing
It is well known that Generation Z prefers social media to receive information about new
products and services. According to SproutSocial report from July of 2021, 81% of Generations
Zers polled prefer Instragram and YouTube as their social networks of choice (Kim, 2021).
Additionally, when asked which networks they would like see brands use more for marketing,
56% said Instagram while 38% chose YouTube. This being the case, I feel that the best two
digital marketing approaches for this demographic are short-form video content for YouTube and
Instagram stories.
Role of Bloggers or Other Influencers in Connecting with Generation Z.
Influences play a major role in the lives of Gen Zers in terms of consumerism as they are
reported to be one of the main sources for them to learn of new products and services. The
statistics I located in a marketing blog from last year definitely support this statement. For
instance, "50% of Gen Zers surveyed report that they trust influencer recommendations". For
example, "about a quarter of Gen Z women say that influencers are where they most often learn
about new products to buy". The blog article goes on to state that "72% of Gen Z and Millennials
follow influencers, with Gen Z more likely to follow many". All quotes from this paragraph
