Option 2: For this option, consider a normal distribution.

Decide whether you should use the median or mean to best describe the data set.

In a normal distribution, the mean (or average value) is what should be used to find out around an amount for distributing goods and such. According to Bennett, Briggs, & Triola, M. F. (2017), it considers every value.

Determine whether the standard deviation or the interquartile range are relevant factors.

An interquartile range is a relevant factor while working with distribution as I will provide an example in my next paragraph.

Briefly discuss in the context of a specific example.

An example of the interquartile range for normal distribution contains a brief current event on the superstore Walmart. While reading Newsbreak (an online news report) I found an article about Walmart's stock dropping 8% on Monday. It was a substantial plunge putting into consideration that they are a multi-billion-dollar business. " The super chain has largely blamed inflation for its recent issues, invigorating recession concerns, and redefining consumer habits across the board," says Joel Eisenberg (July 29, 2022), a NewsBreak contributor. The rest of the year's profit outlook is going to be lowered because they plan to have more markdowns which would help consumers but not negatively affect the store. Walmart and most businesses use the interquartile range every season to see the profiting position they foresee for the future of the company. With this concept, they can find if they need to raise their stock prices or scale back as needed.
