Question 2 Using Suri's \"Incredible Ice Cream" menu (see page 13), answer the questions below. Suri wants to advertise on her menu the total possible options of ice creams that can be made. Thai is, customers can buy a single scoop of chocolate flavoured ice cream in a sugar cone which is different from a single scoop of chocolate avoured ice cream in a waffle cone, etc. She has come up with three possible totals AB and (3 shown below. Show the mathematical working used to get to each suggested total and explain the assumption made. Total A has been done for you. a) Total A : 400 possible options of ice cream Assumptions made: 0 Customers who buy two scoops choose different ice cream flavours. o The order of the ice cream matters as scoops are on top of each other. Supporting calculations: One Stoop or Two Scoops 4 X 1 0 + 4 X 1 0 X 9 : 40 0 Types nf canes awmrs Types nfcanes 1:' Scoop 2M 5:00p b) Total B: Assumptions made: 0 the order does not matter and o the double scoop ice cream may be the same flavour twice, then how many total possible of ice cream are there? Suppam'ng calculations: Total B: possible options of ice cream Question 2 continues c) Total C : 440 possible options of ice cream d) Assumptions made: Supporting calculations: Suri decides that the total of 440 options is the correct calculation. However, she thinks that is not enough variety. Suri would like to advertise at least 10,000 different options. Make a recommendation of possible changes that can be made to the current menu to increase the number of different ice cream options sold at the shop. Support your recommendations with appropriate calculations and explanations. Suri's friend Isaac does not like chocolate, so he will not order chocolate or chocolate chip flavours. He always orders two different flavoured scoops, and to him it does not matter which flavour is on top of the other (i.e. the order does not matter). He has worked out that even though he does not order any of the chocolate avours, he still has 224 options. He has shown his working below: No of options : 8x 7 x4 : 224 Is his answer correct based on his assumptions above? Explain clearly why/why not. If it is not correct, calculate the correct answer. 60f'l4
