need help writing a constructive response to discussion

This week showed a great tool to use when dealing with an ethics issue in the workplace. The 3-step method is a way that we can use to think critically about an issue. The steps are to define the problem, identify potential causes and make recommendations or to take action. I had fallen into a workplace issue in the past. It's a small example but it was concerning at the time. When I was 16, I worked in the kitchen of a seafood restaurant. The manager told me multiple times to re-use pieces of food or dishes that still looked clean and untouched. I thought that was very unhealthy, I didn't listen to him and just followed the rules. 

As I wouldn't want that done to me. I didn't necessarily know how to handle the issue so with it being a part-time job, I just found another place to work. Prior to leaving though I made sure to let the owner know why I was leaving. The owner would have needed to define the issue of a manager encouraging subordinates to make unethical decisions regarding customers' food. Potential causes were probably this manager was not trained in keeping up with health standards and was possibly overwhelmed in their position. A recommendation could have been to reprimand and or retrain the manager depending on the severity of the issue.
