Neoliberal policies implemented by the governments of Canada, Mexico, and the United States opened the door to the privatization of public service such as energy supply. The case of energy in Maine is an example of how the management of the public good ended up in the hands of two foreign companies that are no longer accountable to the citizens of Maine but to the shareholders of Enmax Corporation, a Calgarybased company, and Iberdrola, a Spanish-based company. Research one of this foreign energy companies and highlight their international business strategy and their global outreach.
