Net Present Value (NPV) seems to be definitely favored in the book and it often used in business; however, one thing I have learned in business is that NPV analysis can be manipulated due to bias within different organizations. For example, a company only has $10,000 to invest in a new capital project and two different departments are competing for the capital funds. My experience is that each group will show very optimistic figures and analysis in order to get the funds, each showing their project is better than the other department. That said, what can companies do to choose the best project?
