Network security used to be somewhat of an afterthought but will all the high profile security vulnerabilities and the sensitive information that is nowadays transmitted over the internet most companies spend a good amount of resources on it. How would you go about securing a corporate network? If it helps, you could pretend that you were approached by a company to consult them on their network security. Discuss all the possible threats and defenses, and draw from the book for starters. In addition, include specific software solutions (if applicable) that will help in protecting against these threats and explain why you selected it. In what way is it better than the alternatives? Etc. In addition, respond to post of at least two of your classmates and provide constructive criticism on their suggested plan of attack. What strengths and weaknesses can you identify? How does it compare to your own plan? Etc.
