Newlandia, Oldlandia, and Midlandia are WTO Members. Victorialand is currently in negotiations to become a WTO member and it is expected that these negotiations will be successfully concluded by the end of 2019. Newlandia is located in the Caribbean and Oldlandia and Victorialand are coastal states.Midlandia is a European country located in the Alps mountain range.

The following trade related development has taken place:

1. Oldlandia 's bound rate for live cattle is 30% and its current applied rate is 20%.Pursuant to an understanding with Midlandia, Oldlandia has introduced an import tariff of 5 % for "cattle reared at a spot at least 600 metres above sea level and having at least one month's grazing each year at a spot at least 800 metres above sea level".

2. Recently, Oldlandia adopted a regulation which imposes a sales tax of 30% on cars with fuel efficiency below 15 miles per gallon and a sales tax of 10% on cars with a fuel efficiency above 15 miles per gallon. All cars produced in Oldlandia have a fuel efficiency above 15 miles per gallon.All cars produced in the other countries have a fuel efficiency below 12 miles per gallon. All of the other countries export cars to Oldlandia.
