Nitin purchased 10,00,000 kgs of cotton from Meera on 1st April 2020. He took partial delivery of 15,000 kgs of cotton packed in 15 bags and paid Rs. 5 lakhs as advance. Nitin promised to pay the remaining Rs. 10 lakhs when cotton would be delivered at his factory on 16 April 2020. Meera instructed her staff to pack the remaining bags and get the cotton ready for delivery by 14 April. On 13 April, fire broke out in Meera's godown and all the cotton was destroyed. Meera sued Nitin claiming property in goods had passed to Nitin on 1st April. Nitin denies that he became the owner of cotton bags when agreement was entered into on 1st April. Argue from either side.
