Part-6[10 marks]
A published study of a chemical reaction, AP, indicates that if the reactor initially contains A at a concentration of CA0(gL) and the reaction temperature kept constant, then the concentration of P in the reactor increases with time according to the formula
CP(gL)=CA0(1-e-kt(min))
The reaction is run with CA0 equals 6.2gL and the following is the reported experimental results.
\table[[t(min),0,10,20,30,60,120,240,360,480,600],[Cp(gL),0,0.379,0.734,1.068,1.952,3.289,4.833,5.558,5.899,6.058]]
a) How would you plot the data to get a straight line on rectangular coordinates? What will be the slope and intercept? Plot the data to get a straight line and find the value of k.
b) How would you plot the data to get a straight line on semi-log paper? What will be the slope and intercept? Plot the data to get a straight line and find the value of k.
c) Using the equation calculate the concentration of P at 6000s.
d) Use two-point linear interpolation to determine the concentration of P at 6000s and comment on your result.
