Now that you have a better understanding of what the project will involve, it is necessary to establish a schedule for the project. Create a draft schedule using the WBS for tasks. The task durations should be displayed using a Gantt chart that you can create in Excel. Several Gantt chart templates are uploaded to Folio if you want to use them to get started. You can also use Figure 3-4 on page 116 or Figure 6-5 on page 256 as examples if necessary. In addition to the WBS tasks, identify at least three milestones for the project on the Gantt chart, remembering to include the MVP as one milestone. The milestones can be related to any WBS category, often including completion of key deliverables, approvals, etc. Recall that a milestone is a significant event that usually has no duration; it is a marker to assist you in identifying necessary activities, so you must have tasks that will lead to completing the milestone.
