NSW government is considering policies to promote the uptake of solar panel to produce electricity for household consumption. To investigate factors that affect households' decision to adopt solar panel, a survey was carried out. Data obtained from the survey are provided in the attached spreadsheet 'solar uptake survey data'. The data sample was collected by random sampling households in NSW. There are four variables in the data set:

? 'Uptake' has two categories: 'Solar' and 'Nonsolar'. Category 'Solar' means that the household has adopted solar technology while 'Nonsolar' means the household has not.

? 'Dwellings' provides the type of the dwellings that a household has.

? 'Income' indicates the income of the surveyed households. This is a categorical variable, and therefore households' incomes are described by income intervals, rather than exact numbers.

? 'Education' indicates the level of education of the head of the household, for example, whether the person has a bachelor degree or a postgraduate degree.

A government officer suggests that the proportion of households adopting solar technology is the same as the proportion of households not adopting solar technology. Use a statistical test to test this claim. Make sure to state the null hypothesis and the alternative hypothesis, the type of test to be used, the test statistic, the critical value or p-value, and the conclusion from the test. (10 marks)
