Number of Outcomes Scope and Purpose of Assignment

You will write a paper of at least one page length on some everyday uses of combinatory codes.

Objective

Objective of this project is to understand the difference between basic counting, combination and permutation from real life examples.

Introductory Examples

Coke/Pepsi caps Game: When you look inside any cap, there is a code.

Questions

How many different outcomes for the code system? Is it possible to write a code randomly that matches any real code? Is the code system combination or permutation?

Procedure

Step 1: Get as many Coke/Pepsi caps as you can. Record the codes.

Step 2: Figure out the number of digits and the number of outcomes for any digit.

Step 3: Explain the rules of the code System.

Step 4: Compare codes from step 1 and code from step 3. Do you find a match? Match entire code or single digit(s)?
