Objective of this Assignment:

To apply strategic thinking to transfer of training principles by demonstrating ways in which to embed transfer into training and development strategies that are linked with organizational vision, mission and values.

Instructions:

Step 1:

You are required to perform an "audit" on the transfer system in an organization of your choosing. Either a company you are working at currently, one you have worked at previously, or you can reach out to an organization to seek this information. Your audit should be strategically focused with the purpose of determining if transfer of knowledge is an integral part of the organization's training and development strategy.

1. make an audit "checklist" that will assist you in determining how strategically aligned the organization is with regards to transfer. Recall that your checklist is to be strategically focused. For example, below are two leading indicators of effective transfer. One is strategic in nature, while the other is operational:
   1. Do workers have opportunities on the job to apply the newly acquired knowledge? (operational)
   2. Do managers consistently support transfer and clarify expectations with regards to application of newly acquired knowledge? (strategic)
2. Identify how each element on the checklist relates to training and development, as well as organizational strategies.
3. Recommend changes to improve knowledge transfer in the organization you have reviewed.

Step 2:

make a report that includes the following:

• An audit checklist with a minimum of five indicators that identifies strategic linkage;
• Recommended changes, assuming you are presenting the recommendations to the management team of the organization.
