With an increase in housing estates in the North-East area of Singapore as well as the bed crunch situation faced in public hospitals, the Ministry of Health will construct a public hospital in the area, which offers a comprehensive range of medical services as well as a full suite of medical specialties.

This hospital consists of a tower for Specialist Outpatient Clinic and a tower for inpatient wards with a podium. It also includes a basement car park space that can hold about 1,000 cars. This design-bid-build development is with the site area of 55,000m2 and the GFA of 127,000 m2 .

This project will be constructed in close proximity to existing MRT stations, community clubs, polyclinics and neighborhood police posts, posing a huge challenge to the restriction of space. To prevent site congestion, just-in-time delivery method should also be adopted and the site should be divided into two zones to build up the two separate towers.

The client wants to build this on a fast-track basis without any accidents and with emphasis on Sustainability, Water conservation and Green Mark. Stages for construction of this project are:

Site Clearance

Road works

Drainage

Foundation and Superstructure works including finishing

Electro-Mechanical works

Finishes and External Works
